Well, if you often watch television, there is an almost certain chance that you have ever heard about the Bowflex models. These so-called home gym systems are said to be able to bring various gym exercises into the comfort of your home, allowing you to train and keep your body in shape without having to leave your private zone. Now, if you are ready to invest some money for a Bowflex system, then you can put Bowflex Revolution and Bowflex Xtreme 2 into your consideration. They are two of the highest models of Bowflex, with the Revolution being more expensive than the Xtreme 2. So, which is the one that you better get?
Design
Bowflex Xtreme 2 is actually very identical to Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE, which we have ever compared to Bowflex Revolution as well before, except that Bowflex Xtreme 2 does not come with the ab crunch mechanism. Nevertheless, it still comes with a vertical platform, making it relatively more compact. It measures by 96” x 78” x 83”. It can be a great choice if you don’t have a lot of room available. On the other hand, Bowflex Revolution has a horizontal design, making it somehow bigger and bulkier. On the good side, the bench can fold to save some space when the system is not being used. Bowflex Revolution measures by 120” x 84” x 83”. Both Bowflex Xtreme 2 and Bowflex Revolution are highly rugged and durable, as each has a maximum user weight limit of 300 lbs.
Resistance Technology
Bowflex Xtreme 2 comes with a 210-lb Power Rod Resistance, which can be upgraded to 310-lb and 410-lb. This is great, as it will let you train harder later down the road. On the other hand, Bowflex Revolution offers the 220-lbs SpriaFlex Resistance. Compared to Power Rod Resistance, SpriaFlex Resistance is a better technology that provides a smoother and more even resistance, creating a more realistic training for the muscles. However, Bowflex Revolution’s resistance can only be upgraded up to 300 lbs.
Cardio Row
Another significant difference between these two models is that Bowflex Revolution includes a cardio row machine, Bowflex Xtreme 2 doesn’t. The cardio row can be a great training for fat loss, endurance, and cardiovascular health, as it requires lots of effort from both upper and lower body.
Number of Exercises
Finally, Bowflex Revolution comes with a lot more total exercises. It has over 100 built-in exercises, whereas Bowflex Xtreme 2 only has over 70 built-in exercises. With more varieties of exercises, your muscles won’t get bored and will be continually challenged.
