Aquaphor Vs Eucerin

There is a reason that Aquaphor is dermatologists’ favorite since a very long time ago. Without question, it does a formidable job in treating skin conditions. People often run to this product when it comes to eczema, rash, itching, sunburn, also including diaper rash that often happens to younglings. However, it is not precisely the only solution that is loved by people. I am sure that some of your neighbors or relatives have advised to take Eucerin, too. Eucerin is also an ointment that is specially made to treat very dry and compromised skin. If you are not sure to take Aquaphor or Eucerin, then read on.

The two medications have different characteristic. Users reported that Eucerin is more creamy on the skin, and dries quicker than Aquaphor. On the contrary, Aquaphor is waxier in texture. Aquaphor does not dry as quick, but it gives a greasy surface on the skin which may be somewhat uncomfortable for some people. Because of its thicker texture, Aquaphor is able to trap moisture into the skin better than Eucerin.

However, if we take a look at their ingredients, Aquaphor contains petrolatum, an active ingredient derivated from petroleum, so it is almost like vaseline. For addition, it has lanolin alcohol, bisalobol, glycerin, and panthenol to help repairing the skin barrier and soothing the skin. Meanwhile, Eucerin does not contain petroleum, so it is softer to the skin.

Conclusion
For severe cases of skin condition, I would suggest you with Aquaphor over Eucerin because it simply works better in moisturizing the skin despite its greasy feature. However, if you dislike petroleum ingredient, then Eucerin is a good alternative. Eucerin is good and works well for mild dry skin.
